Hair loss has become an embarrassing as well as frustrating situation for both the genders as it not only disturbs the physical appearance but also hampers the mental health of the person. Usually, people experience loss of approximately 150 hair on a regular basis but if you observe excess hair loss then you must visit a hair specialist to get the suitable hair loss treatment on time. There are a plethora of surgical and non-surgical ways are available to treat hair loss issues. Some of the surgical hair loss issues are as follows:-
- HAIR TRANSPLANTATION:- Procedure of hair transplant has been proven a highly-effective way to treat baldness or thinning hair issues. In this procedure, the surgeon removes hair from the donor area normally from the back or side of the head and graft that removed hair onto the bald areas of the scalp. In this procedure there are two methods:
- Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE):-
This is a modern approach and in this approach, the surgeon removes the single hair follicles directly from the back of the scalp through several tiny punch incisions. Then the surgeon makes tiny holes onto the recipient area with the help of needle and blade to place the removed hair precisely in these holes. Tiny dot scars are left behind on the donor area where the surgeon abstracts hair. Ultimately, the surgeon is going to cover the operated area by bandages.
- Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT):-
This is the conventional approach and in this approach, the surgeon abstracts the strip of scalp skin from the back of the scalp with the help of a scalpel. The strip which the surgeon removes is 6-10 inch long. The surgeon removes the donor area with the stitches. Later on, the surgeon separates the strip into several tiny grafts which are then grafted on the bald areas of the scalp. Finally, the surgeon covers the treated area with bandages.
- PLATELET RICH PLASMA THERAPY(PRP):-
It is a three-step treatment in which the surgeon draws and processes the blood of the patient and then injects the patient’s own blood into the scalp. The three-step of this procedure are:-
STEP 1:- Surgeon draws blood usually from the arm and then places the blood into a centrifuge. This is a machine that separates the different densities’ blood by spinning rapidly.
STEP 2:- Surgeon separates the blood into three layers, after keeping the blood into the centrifuge. Those three layers are:-
1. red blood cells
2. platelet-rich plasma
3. platelet-poor plasma
STEP 3:- Surgeon draws the blood in the syringe and then inject the blood into the areas of the scalp which requires the increased growth of hair.
This treatment is used to increase the hair formation density by preventing hair loss issues in both genders. This method moisturizes and nourishes the scalp by using the injection needles and the scalp nourishments without any pain. Besides this, this treatment also accelerates cell metabolism and prevents the infection formation and increases the formation of hair by refreshing the hair units and making them bulky, strong, healthy, long and thick.
