Recently, Messenger Kids by Facebook was launched in India. The app is designed for kids under 13 and comes with tons of special new features for kids. Meanwhile, the app has been launched in the US back in 2017 but now with its new version, the app debuted in India, Brazil, Columbia, and Indonesia covering 70 countries in total.
The app saw its roots growing up soon after the deal between Facebook and Reliance’s Jio Platforms. The deal was signed up and Facebook investing Rs 43,574 crore and gaining 9.99 shares in the company. According to this latest news update, both the companies are planning to introduce major apps such as for businesses and a new messaging app.
As of now, Facebook has the highest number of users of its social messaging app, Whatsapp in India. Whatsapp has a total of 400 million active users currently in the country and the number is still growing forward. Amid the increase, the Menlo Park, California headquartered company is set to go above high from this through their new app.
Launched initially in the US, Canada and Peru, Mexico, and Thailand, the app saw a humongous rise in the users. The app was so much liked due to its simple and easy layout. This gave Facebook the idea to expand its application in different parts and now the app stands strong in 75 countries.
The app has introduced some of the top features which might be useful for both kids and parents. As for the kids, they can now add into new groups for instant messaging. One of the additional features which are likable by everyone is the “Supervised Friending”. This feature allows the parent to keep a check on their kid’s activities.
Adding to this, parental control allows the user to accept, reject, add, or remove contacts from their children’s friend list. And all of this with the ability to delete a contact whenever you feel the necessity. The update has been rolled out in the US and now within a few days, you can expect the feature in other countries as well.
Facebook has also provided the feature for the kids to get added by their teachers and coaches at their school. Amid the situations of lockdown, most of the institutions are taking virtual classes until further notice. As a solution to this lockdown, Messenger Kids paved the way for the students to connect easily with their regular classes.
When kids are getting the hold of the app, parents are made aware of their kids’ activities. On the Parent Dashboard, parents could see which group their kid is added to and from whom he or she is added. If they want to, they can remove them from these groups respectively.
It is also to be kept in mind that once young users get added in these groups, they will be sharing messages to anyone on their contact list individually, along with those adults who added them on request of their parents. There is also an option to let kids leave any groups by their choice.
As of now, new users could search the platform to find and add their friends or acquaintance just like the general Facebook Messenger app. Finally, along with this connecting feature, top privacy features and latest technology updates are also introduced for the safe use of your child.
